Located in the heart of East Durham at 491 S Driver Street in historic Garland Court, Proximity Brewing Company can accommodate a variety of private events from company parties and networking events to rehearsal dinners, birthday parties and baby showers. Built in 1905, the two unit, 5 bbl brewhouse and taproom that we call home was the center of the original business/church district of Old East Durham.

Our combined space is suited for groups of 20-70 seated and up to 80 standing. Sections of our shared courtyard are also available to reserve, as well as our private lounge suitable for closed off VIP and private tastings. Our venue also features the option of small group brewery tours which can be an added attraction any party or event.

FAQs

  • Just about any event is welcome at PBC. Corporate and networking events, holiday and birthday parties and group meet-ups are some of the regular events we host at Proximity. Let us know what you have in mind and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

  • Yes. A one-on-one tour can be scheduled Tuesday-Friday from 12 pm-6 pm by appointment only or you can swing by during normal business hours, grab a beer and take a look around.

  • PBC can accommodate up to 70 people seated and up to 85 standing. With a courtyard option, the space can accommodate up to 175 people.

  • Yes. You may bring in your own caterer for your event, or use one from our preferred vendor list. All caterers must be fully licensed with the state health department and have liability insurance. Clients may also bring prepared food platters to be served at their event. Homemade food is not permitted at Proximity hosted events.

  • No. All alcoholic beverages must be provided by Proximity Brewing Company. We do not host ABC Special Permit Events.

  • Yes. There is a gravel parking lot next to Mike D’s BBQ, street parking on Salem Street, & two parking lots on Salem Street that are available. There is also a load-in area just outside the brewery’s back door. All parking is first come first serve.

  • To book your event at PBC, a 50% payment and a signed contract is required. We also have a $250 refundable security deposit that is required when booking your event.
